My Great Salvation, or MGS, is the children's ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. In 2023, the church began picking up neighborhood kids to attend our Vacation Bible School. Soon after, a burden was on the heart of several to begin offering rides to neighborhood children to regular services, along with a special 9:30 children's service on Sunday mornings. MGS is a great time for junior aged children to learn about the Savior in a unique, interesting way. We sing fun action songs and hymns, learn practical memory verses, play intriguing games, and have unique special activities, all while accomplishing our main goal of teaching salvation by faith through Jesus Christ and basic discipleship to kids.

There is only one way to heaven, and children need to be taught about this. We teach the Gospel and each kid's need for it!

In addition to the Gospel, children must be given Biblical knowledge. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." In the dark world of today, even children need to have the light of God's Word to guide them to true success.

In MGS, we strive to teach the Bible in a way that makes the truths of God's Word come alive in the hearts of the children. Object lessons, puppet shows, flannel graph, flash cards, sounds, videos, and role-playing Bible stories are a few ways that God has allowed us to try to make an impression on each child in our MGS ministry.

We work on memory verses that apply directly to each child's life! In addition, children are encouraged to begin faithfully reading and understanding God's Word for themselves.

Who doesn't love games? MGS has games for learning and review, and sometimes for the plain forgotten idea of FUN! Also, we have many unique activities throughout the year to encourage unity and give more opportunities to preach the Gospel.
