Welcome to Calvary Baptist Church, we would love to hear from you!
Each Sunday at 11:00 AM, we begin our worship service. After having fellowshipped together during Sunday School and before the service begins, we are ready to worship God together as unified believers in the local church--just as He has commanded. The choir, congregationals, and special music set the tone for the preaching, which is ordinarily brought by our Pastor, Bert Dixon.
This ministry is designed for junior-aged children and teaches the basics of salvation and Christian growth through Bible stories. We implement games, fun music, and so much more to make this an enjoyable, controlled, and learning atmosphere for your kids. Click Here for More
We have several Sunday School classes to help each individually grow in their personal knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures. You would be welcome to attend our Sunday School classes any time. Click Here for More
The main event in the Sunday morning service is the preaching. "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." Our church would be remiss to not emphasize preaching in all of our services, but our Sunday morning service also includes some other activities, including:
"...teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." This command from the book of Colossians teaches the importance of the singing of God's people. Through congregational singing, everyone in attendance, regardless of talent or age, can participate in the worship of God through music.
A choir is such a blessing to the church! As an organized group of believers specifically practiced in specific songs, the choir sings beautiful and lasting songs that make an impact on the congregation not only in the service, but throughout the week.
Another important command of God to His people is that they give through tithes and offerings, and we provide an opportunity for our people to obey the Lord in giving in our Sunday morning service.
Again, music is a wonderful and ordained way to praise the Lord. A soloist or group of singers can be a special blessing through personal testimony and personality communicated through the pathway of biblical song.
